RAN GLUZMAN
The Guest

The Guest is a trio of stories set between Germany and Israel... [it] showcases a new and talented author.” – Eden Yoel, Mako

“Like espresso - short, strong, and on-the-mark... three stories that leave you with a taste for more.” – Boaz Zalmanovich

THE BOOK

An old friend’s visit inspires a young couple’s good will and hospitality, but when the guest shows no intention of leaving, her presence begins to threaten the lovers’ fragile harmony. A novelist’s fixation on uncovering a family secret his mother is determined to bury leads to disastrous results. A young man veers between fascination and repulsion for his enterprising uncle, whose aspirations may devastate their entire family.

Set between Germany and Israel and told in Gluzman’s gripping and poetic language, these three stories draw a chilling portrait of obsession, the frailty of human relationships, and the arbitrary rule of desire.
